TUSLA, Okla. – University of North Florida men's tennis' Yannick Zuern advanced past the Pre-Qualifying Draw, but both Zuern and Jack Findel-Hawkins suffered losses in the first round of Qualifying Singles on Monday at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.

Zuern began the day with a three-set 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-2 victory over Illinois' Julian Childers in the Round of 32. It was Zuern's third-consecutive three-set match in Pre-Qualifying Singles. Both of his Round of 128 and Round of 64 matches were determined in three sets.

Both Zuern and Findel-Hawkins played close matches during Qualifying Singles. Zuern played yet another three-set match, but fell 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to Tulane's Constantin Schmitz. Findel-Hawkins dropped a 7-6 (3), 6-2 match to Ohio State's Hugo di Feo.

As a result of both setbacks, Findel-Hawkins and Zuern reached the consolation bracket. Findel-Hawkins fell to NJIT's Markus Shultz 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, Zuern plays Ole Miss' Ricardo Jorge on Tuesday morning.

Also starting on Tuesday is the Qualifying Doubles round. Findel-Hawkins and Zuern have a bye in the first round. The duo, who are ranked No. 9-16, plays one of the Round of 128 winners at 7 p.m., EST/6 p.m. CST.
