KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 72 University of North Florida men's tennis ended play at the Tennessee Spring Invitational with a 4-0 sweep of Southern Illinois on Sunday at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.

"Our guys acted like a great team today," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "Southern Illinois will have a chance at winning their conference. However, to beat them this convincingly was impressive. I cannot be more excited for the future of our team."

The Ospreys quickly earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern secured the first doubles match with a 6-3 victory over Szymon Opieczonek and Ransom Braaten at No. 2 doubles. No. 28 Jack Findel-Hawkins and Norbert Nemcsek downed Jonny Rigby and Michal Kianicka 6-3 on the No. 1 court, allowing UNF to go up 1-0 for the match.

In singles, UNF earned wins on the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 courts in order to get the team win. Alberto De Meo put the Ospreys up 2-0 after a 6-0, 6-2 triumph against Peter Molloy at No. 6 singles. Norbert Nemcsek emerged with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Opieczonek at the No. 3 spot. Julian Bradley claimed match point at No. 5 singles, defeating Daniel Martinez 6-2, 6-1.

UNF is back in action on Friday with a home-opening match against Florida Atlantic. Match time is set for 3 p.m., from the UNF Tennis Complex.
