KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Three matches in three days, including two against nationally-ranked opponents, awaits No. 72 University of North Florida men's tennis at this weekend's Tennessee Spring Invitational.

"We get to play some more great tennis this weekend," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "We have some great opportunities for some individual and team wins. We had a great week of practice and the guys are ready for. In addition to taking on former conference rival ETSU, we will also get to face our first Top-20 team in the country, so I'm curious to see how the guys respond."

UNF begins the weekend against No. 67 ETSU on Friday at 1:30 p.m., and will also face No. 17 Tennessee (Saturday, 10 a.m.) and Southern Illinois (Sunday, 11:30 a.m.). All three of the Ospreys' opponents are starting their spring season this weekend.

It is the second-straight weekend in which the Ospreys play three matches. UNF comes off a 2-1 performance at the last weekend's Seminole Invitational, collecting wins over No. 66 Louisiana-Lafayette and No. 71 St. John's.

ETSU begins the spring season on the road for its first nine matches. During the fall season, Connor Huertas and Sebastian Yllera won the doubles title at the Southern Intercollegiate Invitational. Meanwhile, in singles, both David Biosca and Diego Nunez competed in the Qualifying Singles round at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships. Biosca enters the spring as the only nationally-ranked Buc, coming in at No. 85 in last week's ITA singles rankings.

Tennessee also plays Southern Illinois on Saturday and then concludes its season-opening weekend on Monday against both No. 55 Elon and Mercer. The Vols were one of 60 teams selected to play in next weekend's ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on the line. Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese, the defending NCAA Doubles Champions, enter the spring season as the No. 2 doubles team in the nation and claimed the doubles crown at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championships in the fall. Libietis is also among the nation's top singles players, ranking No. 16.

Southern Illinois has three matches in three days at the Tennessee Spring Invitational. In addition to facing Tennessee and UNF, the Salukis take on Mercer on Monday. During the fall, Jonny Ligby reached the third round in Pre-Qualifying Singles at the Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships.
