
@OspreyMSOC Squares off Against In-State Foe UCF Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The North Florida men's soccer team will continue its non-conference schedule on Wednesday night when they travel south to take on the University of Central Florida.
Wednesday night's game will be shown live on UCF Knights All-Access and can also be followed via Live Stats. As with every game, fans can follow the men's soccer on twitter (@OspreyMSOC) for in-game updates. The Ospreys only contest last week came against Georgia State on Saturday evening in which the Panthers came away with a 4-1 victory in Atlanta. North Florida went into halftime with the scored tied at one before the Panthers scored three goals in a six-minute span midway through the second half to seal the victory.

Regional Rankings: For the third-straight week the Ospreys were listed in the NSCAA Southeast Regional Rankings coming in at No. 9. They appear with two other Atlantic Sun schools in the rankings, Lipscomb and Florida Gulf Coast who were No. 7 and No. 9 respectively. After a 2-0 start to begin the season, North Florida received its highest ranking at No. 5.
All-Time Series History: UCF has been on the winning end of the majority of the previous meetings since the series started in 2005. The Ospreys broke through last season with their first win over the Knights since 2007, a 1-0 overtime thriller in Orlando. Prior to last season UCF outscored North Florida, 10-0 in three games. The Knights have won seven of the nine total matches.
Common Opponents: The Knights and Ospreys share common 2014 opponents, Florida Atlantic and the College of Charleston. In their only other home game of the young season, the Knights defeated Florida Atlantic, 1-0 on Sept. 5. The Ospreys opened the season against FAU, erupting Division I program-high, five goals in a 5-2 victory on Aug. 29. The College of Charleston pinned a 4-0 setback on North Florida on Sept. 7 and played to a 1-1 draw against UCF on Sunday.
A-Sun Leaders: Statistically the Ospreys are the Atlantic Sun's top offense. They are tied for the league lead with 10 goals and have more assists (9) than any other A-Sun cohort. Sophomore Simen Solstad is tied for a league-best three goals on the season while Helge Pietschmann is ranked sixth nationally and first in the A-Sun with four assists.
Immediate Impact: Christian Pedroza was the latest Osprey newcomer to make an impact on the offensive end as he scored the Ospreys' lone goal against Georgia State. He and junior-transfer Helge Pietschmann have combined for eight of the Ospreys' 29 points this season.
About UCF: A challenging opening slate for the Knights has them sitting with a record of 1-3-1 coming into Wednesday's game. All three of UCF's losses have been by one-goal and they are coming off a 1-1 tie against the College of Charleston on Sunday. Romario Williams is responsible for two of the three Knight goals. Both of his tallies have come via the penalty kick in back-to-back games against FAU and Akron. Goalkeeper Sebastian Evers has started all five games this season and is third in the entire country with 33 saves. He boasts a .96 goals against average and is credited with one shutout this season.
Schedule Note: Sunday's home match against Wofford has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. The game will not be rescheduled.
