Ospreys Finish 6th at Hatter Women's Golf Classic

DeLAND, Fla. – The North Florida women's golf team closed out their fall schedule with a 6th place finish Tuesday at the Hatter Classic held at Victoria Hills Golf Club.
The Ospreys posted a final round 326 and finished with a three-round total of 965. Freshman Kelly Aylwin paced UNF's all-rookie lineup claiming her first career Top 10 showing with a tie for sixth at 231 including a team best final round 75.
Tess Huber, the team's stroke average leader, concluded her solid fall campaign in a tie for 11th at 234 just missing a fourth Top 10 performance. Belinda George earned a tie for 30th at 249 in her debut in the Osprey lineup while Victoria Pitenis finished 35th (251) in rounding out the UNF travel squad.
Tournament host Stetson garnered the team championship with a 54-hole total of 931, two strokes in front of runner-up McNeese State at 933. Daytona State finished in third at 938 followed by Bethune-Cookman (951), USC Upstate (951), North Florida, FAU (972), Lipscomb (991) and Webber International (1074).
Stetson's Sammi Smith completed the sweep for the Hatters after earning the individual medalist title with a tournament total 224.
North Florida will now be off from competition for four months before returning to action Mar. 2-4, 2013 at the Kiawah Island (S.C.) Classic.
