ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team defeated Conference USA's UCF, 5-2 on Wednesday in Orlando, Fla. The Ospreys improve to 15-1 on the season while the Knights fall to 9-4.

UNF fell behind early, losing the doubles point as UCF picked up wins in two of the three matches. The Ospreys won the No. 2 doubles as sophomore transfer Danielle Day and freshman Melanie Aguirre teamed up to defeat Christy Core and Katie Orletsky, 8-5.

In singles, the Ospreys won five of the six matches. Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock remained undefeated at No. 1 as she defeated 105th ranked Jenny Frisell, 6-3, 6-2. Day picked up a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Jenna Doerfler at No. 3 and junior Victoria Krook notched a 6-4, 6-1 win over Allison Hodges at No.4.

Aguirre and junior Lauren Holton played tough three set matches at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Aguirre downed Orletsky, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 while Holton remained undefeated on the season with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over Taylor Dubins.

The Ospreys will be back in action on Friday, March 26 when they host USC Upstate at 2 p.m. On Saturday, UNF will host Campbell in an 11 a.m. match.
