JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 70 ranked University of North Florida women's tennis team swept Belmont, 7-0 on Friday evening in Atlantic Sun Conference action at UNF Tennis Complex. The Ospreys improve to 10-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.

UNF got off to a strong start, picking up the doubles point over Belmont (3-7, 0-3 A-Sun) to begin the match. Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock and senior Raquel Castro teamed up at No. 1 to defeat Abby Leatherwood and Laura Stack, 8-1.

In the No. 2 doubles sophomore transfer Danielle Day and freshman Melanie Aguirre grabbed an 8-2 win over Natalia Nunes and Abby Hogan. Juniors Lauren Holton and Victoria Krook paired up at No. 3 to pick up an 8-1 win over Catherine Holliday and Lindsay Bennett.

In singles action Berkenbrock defeated Stack, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. Berkenbrock improves to 11-0 on the season. Castro had a 6-2, 6-0 win over Leatherwood in the No. 2 singles.

Day downed Holliday 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 while Krook picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 over Bennett. Aguirre and Holton picked up points for the Ospreys at No. 5 and 6, respectively. Aguirre defeated Hogan, 6-1, 6-0 and Holton had a 6-2, 6-2 win over Nunes.

The Ospreys will be back on the court on Saturday, March 13 when they host Lipscomb at 11 a.m.
