
Women’s Soccer Claims Double Overtime Thriller at Belmont, 2-1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Junior midfielder Vladana Petricevic found the back of the net in double overtime in the 108th minute to give the North Florida women's soccer team (7-8, 6-2 A-Sun) a victory over Belmont (3-10, 2-5 A-Sun) by a score of 2-1 on a hot Sunday afternoon at the Belmont Soccer Complex. It was Petricevic's second goal on the year and fifth of her career.
With the win, the Ospreys are officially off to its best conference start since joining the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2005 – the team's first year in the conference.
“Getting a 2-0 weekend at any point in time is great,” head coach Linda Hamilton said. “Getting one on the road against two really good teams is a credit to the players. I'm just real proud of them for never giving up, coming back and really fighting to the end. I thought it was an absolutely great game, I really do. Our kids did what they had to do win and it was a really good weekend for us.”
In the 73rd minute, sophomore forward Michelle Larrinaga knotted the score at 1-1 with a header of her own. It was Larrinaga's third goal of the season, while junior midfielder Denisse Soltero earned her third assist of the year on the play.
