Box Score MACON, Ga. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team took down Mercer with ease on Friday with its 6-1 win.
UNF improved its record to 10-9 overall and 4-5 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The win snapped a four-match losing streak.

Eduardo Pereira in the No. 2 match to post an 8-5 win over Mercer's Chapman Mitchell and Matthew Davis. In the No. 3 match, junior
Javier Ferrin and freshman
Adrian Escarate disposed of Mercer's Justin Wimpee and Ryan Ingram, 8-3.
UNF picked up a victory in all of its singles matches but No. 3. Pereira had a challenge in the first set of his No. 1 singles match but kept the intensity up to record a 7-6, 6-3 win over Mercer's Tobias Ohrstrom. In the No. 2 match, Ferrin took down Mercer's Ivan Besancon, 6-2, 6-3.
Gattiker came out on top of a back-and-forth No. 4 match, posting a 7-5, 6-4, win over Mercer's Fernando Armendaris. Freshman
Graham Edgar battled all the way back in his No. 5 match after dropping the first set to defeat Mercer's Matthew Poleon. Edgar won 2-6, 6-1, 5-1, with Poleon retiring in the third set. Escarate added to the clinic with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Ingram in the No. 6 match.
UNF will return to action at 2 p.m. on Wednesday against cross-town rival Jacksonville. The team's will battle it out for a point in the SunTrust River City Rumble.
