Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team continued with its hot streak on Saturday afternoon by manhandling Atlantic Sun Conference foe Belmont 7- 0 at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The Ospreys (6-3, 2-0 A-Sun) won their fourth consecutive and stayed perfect to open A-Sun play. Belmont fell to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in A-Sun play.
Eduardo Pereira stayed perfect in dual match singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 position, his 10th consecutive victory. The senior also won at No. 2 doubles with partner
Kurt Gattiker -- the fifth straight win by the duo.
"We knew that Belmont had a couple of injuries," UNF head coach Igal Buberman said. "We tried to stay focused and keep working on building some momentum in doubles. The team did a good job. We are ready for Gardner-Webb tomorrow."
UNF won all six singles matches in straight sets, losing just seven total games in the match. In doubles, the Ospreys won the bottom two positions 8- 0 while taking the No. 1 spot 8-2.
The Ospreys will cap a busy weekend schedule with a match against Gardner-Webb on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
