Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team won its second straight home match by upending College of Charleston 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.

UNF (4-3) lost its No. 68 national ranking this past week after dropping a pair of matches a week earlier, but they looked strong against the Cougars (3-4) on Sunday.

The Ospreys collected wins at the bottom two doubles positions to capture the doubles point and an early 1- 0 lead. Eduardo Pereira and Kurt Gattiker continued their strong work at the No. 2 spot, winning their third straight match and improving to 6-1 in dual play with an 8-3 win over Charleston's Jimmy Petit and Joe Nicolazzi. UNF's Javier Ferrin and Adrian Escarate also won their third straight at No. 3 with an 8-4 victory over Mickael Boyer and Ross Moyer. Ferrin and Escarate are 5-1 in doubles dual matches for the Ospreys this season.

In singles, the Ospreys continued their strong work by taking five of the six matchups. Steven Myers provided the only point of the day for the Cougars with his 7-6 (4), 6-3 win against UNF's Yuiti Lopes. Pereira won his eighth straight singles match at No. 1 (6-0 in dual play), while Ferrin won at No. 2, Graham Edgar at No. 4, Gattiker at No. 5 and Escarate at No. 6 for UNF.

The Ospreys will return to action on Friday when they open Atlantic Sun Conference play against Lipscomb at the UNF Tennis Complex. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
