UNF hosts FGCU and Stetson next weekend
KENNESAW,
UNF (5-7-1, 2-2-0 A-Sun) fell for the second straight time in A-Sun play after opening its conference schedule with two straight wins. After Friday's 3-0 loss to Mercer, the Lady Ospreys were slow to find an offensive spark on Sunday, taking only two shots in the first half.
Kennesaw (7-3-3, 2-1-1) fired 10 shots in the first half with five on goal. Katie Scott set the tone early when she put the Owls up 1-0 in the fifth minute. Baer put together her hat trick with the next three goals of the contest, two before halftime and the final one a little more than three minutes after the break.
In the second half, UNF picked up the pace and outshot Kennesaw 14-12 but failed to find the net until the 66th minute. Swift's ninth goal of the season was assisted by senior Elizabeth Gowan, who has two assists this season.
The Lady Ospreys return to action with two home A-Sun matches next weekend. As part of four consecutive days of A-Sun soccer at Hodges Stadium – two men's games and two women's games – the Lady Ospreys host Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. and Stetson on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m.
