
Lady Ospreys fall to No. 25 FSU, UNCW

Nemecek takes first in 200-breast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's swimming and diving team gave it all it had on Saturday, but it wasn't enough against top opponents No. 25 Florida State and UNC-Wilmington.
FSU defeated UNF 146-84, while UNCW took down the Lady Ospreys 140-101. The Seminoles won their dual against the Seahawks, 144-87.
The Lady Ospreys (5-2 in duals) were led by senior Krysten Nemecek, who picked up UNF's only first-place finish of the day. Nemecek's time of 2:28.82 helped her finish three second ahead of teammate Kristin Pike, who clocked in 2:31.87.
Lyn Ann Nelson's second-place finish in the 1000-free with a time of 10:38.03 and a second-place showing in the 500-free, clocking in at 5:15.24.
Junior Debbie Rapoza was UNF's top finisher in both 1 and 3-meter diving. Her score of 222.70 helped her finish in fifth in the 1-meter competition, while her mark of 231.05 in 3-meter put her at sixth.
UNF will return to action at 10 a.m. on Wednesday against Northern Colorado in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
