
Track concludes day 2 of FSU Relays

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The second day of the FSU Relays came to a close for the University of North Florida men and women's track and field teams. The day concluded with the Ospreys finishing in the top three of several events.
Sammy Palmer kept up his spectacular outdoor season taking the number one spot in the men's 5000m run, finishing the race in 15:45.08. Junior Jeff Auletta finished right behind Palmer taking second place with a final time of 16:10.38. Rounding out the top-five where Vince Corlew (fourth place) and Ryan Austin (fifth place).
The Lady Ospreys had success competing in two events they have yet to try in the 2007 season: the 10000m run and the 3000m steeplechase. Amanda Davey finished the 10000m run in third place, beating out 11 other competitors. Senior Sarah Coghlan returned to the 3000m steeplechase, an event she thrived in last season. Coghlan finished the race in third place with a time of 11:40.92.
The Ospreys return to action for the final day of the FSU Relays on Saturday with events beginning at 10 a.m. with the women's high jump.
