
UNF defeats South Alabama
in double overtime

MOBILE, Ala. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team defeated South Alabama 1-0 in a double-overtime thriller at the KELME Port City Classic in Mobile, Ala. on Friday evening.
Elizabeth Gowan netted the only goal of the match in the 107th minute to give the Lady Ospreys the victory.
UNF out-shot the Jaguars 20-12. Judith Claessens led the team with five shots, which were all on goal. Gowan tallied three, while Courteney Strickland, Courtney Forson and Maegen Pearce each totaled two shots.
Kayla Pratt led USA's offensive attack with five shots on goal, while Amanda Douglas has two shots on goal.
Rachael Howard was strong between the pipes for UNF, collecting nine saves. USA's goalie Kelsie Lanford also had nine saves.
The Lady Ospreys face Nicholls State in their second game of the KELME Port City Classic on Sunday at 1 p.m.
