
UNF routs Nicholls State, 5-0

Mobile, Ala. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team defeated Nicholls State 5-0 to post their fourth victory of the season and win the KELME Port City Classic on Sunday.
"Today was good in terms of the win." head coach Mike Munch stated. "We finished opportunities that we had not been finishing. The more you play the better you are going to get."
Katelin Swift netted the Lady Ospreys first goal of the game during the 18th minute, assisted by Whitney Colburn.
Amanda Wallace assisted Lena Mullaney for the second goal of the game at the 24:29 mark before she scored an unassisted goal in the 35th minute.
Leading 3-0 entering the second half, Caitlin Kovacs notched another goal for the Lady Ospreys in the 55th minute. She was assisted on the goal by Swift.
Nicholls State's only opportunity to score during the course of the game came a minute before in an attempt by Katherine Peters to give Heather Gosselin UNF's only save of the game. The final UNF goal came in the 60th minute of the match by Swift.
"Katelin worked hard on Friday even though she didn't have a goal in the game." said Munch. "She is starting to get more goal hungry, which is what we have been working with her on."
Swift was named the tournament's offensive MVP along and received all-tournament honors along with teammates Jessica Eriksen, Amanda Wallace and Elizabeth Gowan.
UNF face a big challenge next weekend as they travel to South Carolina to play College of Charleston on Friday and South Carolina State on Sunday.
