
UCF defeats Ospreys

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to UCF tonight in the Ospreys' first single match of the season.
UCF dominated most of the game, out-shooting the Ospreys 19-9. Mats Elmsater, Frank Dinzey and Chris Merritt each posted shots on goal for UNF.
Jake Howard notched the Golden Knights' first goal with 17 minutes remaining in the first half to take a 1- 0 lead.
Rafael Teixiera netted UCF's final goal of the match in the 77th minute.
Michael Frost made five saves before the close of the first half. His final save came in the 55th minute when he stopped a bullet by Zak Boggs.
The Ospreys take the weekend off from play and will travel next weekend to compete in the Evansville Tournament. They are slated to match up with Evansville on Friday and Missouri State on Sunday.
