KENNESAW, Ga. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team fell to Kennesaw State 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Ospreys wrap up their two-game road trip after posting two conference losses.
During the first the Owls dominated the playing field, out-shooting UNF 11-4. The Lady Osprey defense was able to hold off KSU's attempts until the final two minutes of the half. Annie Phillips netted the Owls first goal at the 43:04 mark to put KSU up 1-0.
Another Owl goal by Phillips followed only a minute later to send KSU up 2-0 before the end of the first half.
The Lady Ospreys came out strong in the second half, recording 11 shots of their own and hold KSU to only four. UNF was, however, unable to capitalize on any of the shot opportunities.
Abby Hirsch tallied the Owls' final goal of the game in the 88th minute to seal the victory for KSU.
Elizabeth Gowan recorded four shots for UNF, while Katelin Swift had three shots. Rachael Howard posted two saves for the Lady Ospreys, while Staci Pugh had four saves for KSU.
The Lady Ospreys hope to rebound next Thursday as they host A-Sun foe Gardner-Webb at 4 p.m.
