
Ospreys finish with a strong showing

GAINESVILLE, Fla.- With its second meet of the season completed, the University of North Florida cross country teams are on pace to have blow out seasons.
At the Mountain Dew Invitational held on Saturday, the Lady Ospreys finished seventh out of a field of 20 (5k) with a total of 151 points, while the men's team finished sixth out of 17 (8k) with 183 total points.
The women were once again led by senior captain Sarah Coghlan, who placed seventh in the Women's Top 25 Agate Additional Florida Finishers with a time of 17:53.98. Amanda Davey also finished in the Top 25 finishing 16th, with a time of 18:21.89. Both Coghlan and Davey set personal bests in a 5k race as Ospreys.
On the men's side, freshman Fredrick Johansson posted the best individual time for UNF finishing 30th with a time of 26:03.14, only two minutes behind the first place finisher. Nathan Holden was close behind finishing in 36th place, with a time of 26:10.40.
The men's meet was full of close finishes, as sophomore Goran Kosic finished a little over seven seconds behind Holden (41st place), while Patrick Canfield finished 10 seconds after Kosic (51st place).
UNF has two weeks off before heading to the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, Ala. on Sept. 30.
