
UNF drops High Point

Jacksonville, Fla. - The UNF men's soccer team posted a win today at the Gardner-Webb tournament, defeating High Point 1-0.
David Pollard scored the only goal of the game in the 66th minute. He was assisted by Mats Elmsater.
Both teams were held scoreless through the first half. The Panthers first chance for a goal came in the 18th minute of play by Josh Windley, which was followed by a corner kick and another shot on goal by Chris Archer in the 19th minute. Michael Frost was able to hold off HPU, earning his first two saves of the game. The goalie collected three more saves in the 24th and 25th minutes of play off another series of shots by the Panthers.
The Ospreys' best and only opportunity to score in the first came in the 29th minute of play by Shareef Rajkumar's shot on goal.
Rajkumar fired another shot on goal to open the second half of play in the 47th minute, but the Panthers' keeper, Daniel Clark, made the save.
Up 1-0 after Pollard's goal, Mark Sergio made the final shot of the game in the 87th minute, giving Clark his last save of the game.
Anchored by its defense, UNF held off HPU in the second half, allowing no shots on goal. Frost earned his first shutout of the season, playing the entirety of the game in between the post for the Ospreys.
