JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Lipscomb spoiled Senior Day for North Florida as the Bisons beat the Ospreys 11-7 on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium. Lipscomb had 13 hits, and UNF stranded 13 base runners in the game. The loss also snapped a six-game winning streak for the Ospreys.

Allen Bolden, Tadd Brewer and Josh Caleb each had three hits to lead the Bisons' offense. Senior Jacob Dixon (4-5) made the last start of his career at Harmon Stadium, but lasted only 4.2 innings after allowing seven hits and six runs - five of which were earned.

Paul Piennette (3-4) took over for Lipscomb starter, Josh Smith, in the second inning and worked 3.2 innings to earn the win. Left-hander Ryan Carroll was perfect over the final two innings to earn the save.

Chad Knight led UNF with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate, and Jimmy Glanville added two hits and a pair of runs for the Ospreys.

Zac Miller gave the Bisons an early lead with a three- run home run over the wall in left center field, but the Ospreys tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the second. Knight started the scoring with a RBI double to right center field, and Grant Rogers followed with a run-scoring single to shallow right center. Pinnette then issued a bases-loaded walk to Brennan Grogan to plate another run.

The Bisons reclaimed the lead with an unearned run in the top of the third as Nathan Sensing lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Brewer. Lipscomb extended its lead to 6-3 in the fifth when Joseph short-hopped the wall in center field with two-out two-RBI double.

UNF plated one run in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly to right field by James Belyea to score Glanville, but the Bisons responded with two runs in the sixth.

The Ospreys had the bases-loaded with only out in the bottom of the sixth, but managed just one run as Lipscomb relief pitcher, Brandon McClurg, recorded back-to-back strikeouts to get out of the jam.

Lipscomb added one run in the seventh and two in the eighth, but UNF continued to fight with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. Travis Martin got hit by a pitch with the bases full and Knight followed with a sacrifice fly to right field, however, UNF was unable to close the gap any further.

The Ospreys will conclude their inaugural season at the Division I level on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Miami. The game will be carried live throughout the Southeast on Comcast Sports South.
