JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  - Jonathan Hodach went 3-for-5 with a career-high four RBIs, but it wasn't enough as North Florida fell 19-9 to Jacksonville University on Saturday afternoon at Harmon Stadium. The Dolphins pounded out 17 hits and five home runs en route to taking an eight to seven lead in the Sun Trust River City Rumble series.

The Ospreys (18-16, 10-7 A-Sun) jumped on the board first as Jimmy Glanville hit his second home run of the season in bottom of the first inning. Two batters later Hodach lifted a long-ball of his own over the wall in center field to give UNF any early 3-0 advantage.

The Dolphins got on the board in the third inning with back-to-back solo home runs by JU leadoff man Anthony Bernazard, while Pete Clifford followed with his third home run of the season to make the score 3- 2 in favor of UNF.

Hodach picked up his second hit of the afternoon with an RBI single that sent Glanville across the dish to put the Ospreys on top 4-2 after three innings.

The Dolphins posted six unearned runs in the top of fourth inning to take an 8-4 lead. Thomas LePage got things started with an RBI double and Matt Lopez followed with an RBI triple to right center, before Clifford lifted a long three-run home run over the wall in center.

The Ospreys cut into the Dolphins lead when Hodach slapped a two-out, two-run double down the right field line to make the score 8-6 and give the UNF catcher his third and fourth RBIs of the afternoon.

JU extended its lead to 12-6 in the top of the seventh inning as LePage homered down the right field line and Bernazard hit a two-RBI single to center field. UNF continued to fight as James Belyea pickup his second home run of the season with a two-run shot to straight away center to get the Ospreys within three at 12-9.

The Dolphins added seven more runs in the top of the ninth inning that featured JU designated hitter Gordie Gronkowski extending his hitting streak to 25 games and a grand-slam home run by Mike McCallister.

UNF tallied a season-high four home runs on the afternoon. Glanville finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Chad Knight went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Ospreys.

Ryan Amason (4-4) took the loss after working 3.2 innings and allowing eight runs, but only two of which were earned. JU starter D.J. Ackley (3-3) tossed six innings and surrendered six runs, but got great run support from his offense to earn the win.

UNF and JU will wrap up the series tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. Southpaw Jeremy Papelbon (2-2) will get the starting assignment for the Ospreys, while red shirt freshman Tim Brown (2-1) will take the hill for the Dolphins.
