
UNF steamrolls Ferris State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida men's tennis team continued with its strong home play on Monday afternoon, upending Ferris State 6-1 at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The win was the fourth in five matches at home for UNF (8-4) and its first against a ranked opponent this season in five tries. Ferris State (5-2) is ranked 31st in the latest Division II poll.
The Ospreys took control early, easily capturing the doubles point before rattling off wins in five consecutive singles matches to put the match away. The lone loss of the afternoon came at No. 1 singles, where Ferris State's Brenton Bacon narrowly upended UNF's Matias Sigal in a third-set tiebreaker, 5-7, 7-6, 10-6.
Capturing singles victories for the Ospreys were Eduardo Pereira (No. 2), Jose Terrera (No. 3), German Escallon (No. 4), Elad Gabay (No. 5) and Adam Richardson (No. 6).
UNF will return to action next Monday when it plays Big Ten foe Indiana in Daytona Beach, Fla. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
