JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida completed its first sweep of an Atlantic Sun Conference foe on Saturday with a pair of wins on Saturday at Harmon Stadium.

The Ospreys (12-8, 5-1 A-Sun) took game one of the doubleheader 6-5 in 10 innings, while earning an 8-1 win in game two to notch the three game sweep of the Camels (4-12, 0-3 A-Sun).

"Whenever you can sweep a conference series it's big because now every team they beat we pick up a game on," UNF head coach Dusty Rhodes said. "Our guys fought hard. We've been in a lot of one run games this season and win or lose our guys have battled. They did a good job this weekend."

Nine innings wasn't quite enough to decide game one of the doubleheader.

UNF took leads in the second, fourth and seventh innings, but the Ospreys were unable to prevent the Camels from matching those runs sending the game to extra innings with the game knotted at five runs apiece.

UNF right fielder Damon Olinto helped the Ospreys hold the Camels to five runs throwing out a Campbell base runner at home in the top of the ninth inning and at third base in the top of the tenth inning.

Senior shortstop Matt Oxendine lifted the Ospreys to the win with a two-out double in the bottom of the tenth inning to plate junior second baseman Andrew Chapman and give the UNF a 6-5 win.

The win marks the third time this season that UNF has won a one-run game in the 10th inning.

Oxendine led the charge offensively for UNF with a 5-for-6 performance at the plate. He also scored a pair of runs and drove in one more.

Senior center fielder Brennan Grogan extended his career-high 20-game hit streak with a 3-for-5 performance. Grogan also had two RBIs.

Chapman and sophomore first baseman Jimmy Glanville each collected a pair of hits. Chapman also scored two runs in the win.

UNF junior right-hander Josh Papelbon (3-1) earned the win for the Ospreys after pitching three scoreless innings allowing just four hits and a walk, while striking out two batters.

Senior Ryan Amason started the game for UNF working 6.1 innings allowing three runs on five hits and three walks.

Nine innings was all it took for UNF to claim the second game of the doubleheader and the Ospreys did so in commanding fashion plating eight runs, while holding the Camels to just one run.

UNF left-hander Brad Johnson (1-1) went the distance for UNF to earn the win.

Johnson allowed just seven hits, while striking out eight batters.

Hodach paced the UNF offense with a 3-for-4 performance. He also scored two runs and drove in another.

UNF struck first in game two of the doubleheader with senior catcher Jonathan Hodach driving the ball over the left-center field fence for his first home of the 2006 season. Hodach's homer gave the Ospreys a 1-0 lead.

The Ospreys extended their lead to three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on the strength of a trio of singles by designated hitter Travis Martin, Hodach and left fielder Brett Maloley and a sacrifice fly by third baseman Grant Rogers.

UNF added five insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take an 8-0 lead on the strength of three doubles, by Grogan, Glanville and Rogers.

Campbell pushed a single run across in the top of the eight inning to cut UNF's lead to 8-1.

UNF will be back in action on Tuesday when it hits the road for a single game with in-state rival Bethune-Cookman. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
