
UNF falls to Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team fell to Francis Marion in its final road game of the 2006 season. A made penalty kick by the Patriots in the 81st minute was the only goal scored as the Lady Ospreys suffered a 1-0 loss.
The goal for FMU (11-5-3) was scored by Brittany Rothenbach.
Despite out-shooting the Patriots 14-7, the Lady Ospreys (11-6-1, 5-3-1 A-Sun) were unable to find the back of the net. Katelin Swift recorded two shots on goal for UNF, while Judith Claessens, Courtney Forson, Amanda Wallace and Courteney Strickland each tallied a shot on goal.
Heather Gosselin and Rachael Howard split time in goal for UNF, each tallying a save. Jacque Sutphin recorded six saves for the Patriots.
The Lady Ospreys will close out their 2006 campaign at home next Saturday. Game time is scheduled for noon. UNF will honor nine senior before the start of the match.
