
UNF rallies past Mercer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team closed out conference play on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Mercer. Courtney Forson netted the game-winner for the Lady Ospreys.
Mercer (5-11-1, 5-3-1 A-Sun) scored first in the match in the 53rd minute. Meghan Castaldo tallied the Bears' goal, assisted by Courtney Maxey.
The Lady Osprey (11-4-1, 5-3-1 A-Sun) rallied in the 71st minute as Katelin Swift scored the equalizer for UNF. Swift was assisted by Christine Brewer on the goal.
Forson's goal came less than two minutes later to send the Lady Ospreys up 2-1. Lisa Taylor and Lena Mullaney assisted on the goal.
Heather Gosselin recorded four saves for UNF, while Jean Worts posted two saves for the Bears.
Despite finishing league play with an identical recorded to Mercer, who qualified for the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament last weekend, the Lady Ospreys will not be eligible to compete in the postseason due to reclassification.
The Lady Ospreys travel to Miami on Tuesday to face the Hurricanes. Game time is schedule for 7 p.m.
