JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida swimming and diving team closed out its final home meet of the season with a 139-99 loss at the hands of Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
UNF's Amber Price enjoyed a memorable day, after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions she led off one of the Lady Ospreys' 200-freestyle relay teams. Price's team didn't fair quite as well as she did in the diving events, but she did earn the Lady Ospreys 18 points in the springboard events.
FAU won eight of the first nine swimming events, with freshman Zeynep Meric capturing the 1000 freestyle for the Lady Ospreys in a time of 10:54.30.
Monique Salles-Cunha also captured a win for the Lady Ospreys in the 100-breaststroke, before UNF closed the meet with a win in the 200-freestyle relay. The team of Lindsey McKelvey, Jenna Strom, Ashley Turcot and Chelsea Lewis earned the win in that event with a time of 1:44.51.
Price finished the 1-meter competition with 270.83 points, while finishing the 3-meter event with 261.15 points. UNF's Kaila Johnston earned 228.53 points in the 3-meter competition to finish third.
The FAU meet closed out the regular season for UNF. The Lady Ospreys will now turn their attention toward postseason competition and the Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference Championships in Long Beach, Calif., Feb. 8-11.
