"I thought the guys played well," UNF head coach Ray Bunch said. "We were able to cut out some of the mistakes we have been making, and I attribute that to our guys gaining some experience and starting to get a Division I mentality. I think this win gave our guys a bit of confidence. Gardner-Webb is a very good team, and in my opinion a class act. After the game (GWU head coach) Tony (Setzer) came over and congratulated the boys, that really impressed me. It was nice to see that kind of class in the conference."
UNF freshman Rohan Culley tallied the game-winning goal in the 13th minute of the match by redirecting a rebound past a diving Tyler Kettering. Sophomore Martin Pettersson was credited with the assist.
