
Ospreys soar past cross-town rival

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The University of North Florida men's tennis team concluded its five- match road trip on Thursday, defeating Division I opponent Jacksonville, 5-2. The win improves UNF's record to 15-4 on the season.
While away from the comforts of home, the Ospreys managed to go 4-1, with three of the victories coming in Peach Belt Conference play. North Florida is now 5-1 in PBC action, with two more conference opponents to face in the final two matches of the regular season.
UNF took charge early at JU, earning one point for its overall doubles victory, then taking four of six in singles to improve its record to 2-0 against Division I teams this season.
Singles victories by Jose Maria Terrera, German Escallon, Damien De Polignac and Glen Marshall all came in straight sets. Marshall was up a set and leading another when his opponent retired.
No.6 North Florida will close out its regular season home schedule on April 7, when Armstrong Atlantic State comes to town. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
