Ospreys fall to UNC Pembroke, 3-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's soccer team lost Saturday to UNC Pembroke 3-1 to close out their regular season home schedule. The Braves scored three unanswered goals in the second half to cap the victory.
UNF took the lead in the 41st minute when Mats Elmstar scored, giving the Ospreys a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The second half would be all UNCP (12-1, 6-0), as it scored three times on six second-half shots. John Cooper tied the game in the 54th minute at 1-1, and the Braves took the lead for good in the 81st minute when Graeme Little scored. Mircea Cosac also added a goal late in the game to secure the 3-1 victory.
The loss drops UNF to 4-8-1, and 2-3-1 in conference action. The Ospreys out shot UNC Pembroke 13-10, with goalies Brad Jones (UNF) and Richard Sallin (UNCP) each recording three saves.
North Florida will end its regular season play on Oct. 29 as it travels to take on Savannah College of Art & Design at 6 p.m.
