Ospreys shutout by Florida Tech, 4-0

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's soccer team was shutout Tuesday by Florida Tech, 4-0. UNF managed to out-shoot FIT 16-9, but were unable to get a shot passed Panthers goalie Ashley Foster, who recorded nine saves.
Florida Tech got on the board in the 22nd minute when Hector Franco scored what would end up being the game winner, giving the Panthers an early 1-0 lead. Ramiro Rodriguez knocked in FIT's second goal in the 36th minute, giving Florida Tech a 2-0 first half advantage. Zach Gabe and Adam Boissiere each added goals in the second half, capping off the 4-0 victory.
Foster recorded his second shut out of the season as FIT improved to 4-7-1 on the season. The loss drops the Ospreys to 4-7-1 overall, as they own a 2-2-1 record in Peach Belt Conference play.
North Florida will close out regular-season conference play on Oct. 23 as it hosts #4 UNC Pembroke at UNF field at 3:30 p.m.
