Ospreys hold on for a 3-3 tie

GREENWOOD, S.C. - The University of North Florida men's soccer team and Lander University played to a 3-3 tie Saturday, as Lander scored a goal in the 83rd minute to send the match into overtime.
Lander opened the scoring when Luke Ibbetson notched the first of his three goals, giving the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. UNF's Martin Pettersson scored off of a throw-in by Chris Crider, tying the game at 1-1. Crider assisted on Pettersson's next goal, his seventh of the season, giving the Ospreys a 2-1 advantage. Barclay Powers scored his first goal of the season, taking a pass from Facundo Videla, making it a 3-1 game. Ibbetson would score two second period goals that would send the game into overtime, and end in a 3-3 tie.
North Florida goalie Brad Jones registered six saves, as the Ospreys out-shot the Bearcats 18-13.
UNF returns home to host Webber International University on Oct. 5 at UNF Soccer Field at 7:30 p.m.
