UNF beats USC Aiken, 5-1

AIKEN, S.C. - The North Florida men's soccer team opened up Peach Belt Conference play Saturday with a 5-1 victory over USC Aiken. Senior Facundo Videla, who missed the Ospreys last game with an injury, scored two goals in his return.
UNF opened up the scoring in the 12th minute when Terry Peak assisted Martin Pettersson, giving the Ospreys the 1-0 advantage. The Pacers tied the game in the 35th minute when Andre Johnson knocked a shot passed UNF goalie Brad Jones.
Videla's first goal, assisted by Mats Elmstar, gave North Florida a 2-1 advantage. Peak added to the lead in the 66th minute when he scored off of a penalty kick. Less than a minute later, Videla added his second goal, giving the Ospreys a 4-1 edge. Nick Rodgers added UNF's final goal in the 89th minute, with Pettersson recording the assist.
The win gives North Florida (3-3) their second win in a row and a 1-0 record in Peach Belt Conference play, while USC Aiken drops to 0-2 in the Peach Belt and 4-3-2 overall.
The Ospreys will travel to take on Lander University on Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m., and will return home on Oct. 5 to host Webber International.
