Ospreys blank Warner Southern, 3-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida men's soccer team rebounded from two consecutive losses Wednesday night, shutting out Warner Southern College 3-0 at UNF Soccer Field. In a game that saw seven yellow cards issued along with two red cards, the Ospreys held the Royals to eight shots while registering 27.
UNF (2-3) got on the board first when Martin Pettersson knocked a pass from Mats Elmstar passed WSC goalie Luis Rincon making it a 1-0 game. Terry Peak added to the lead scoring an unassisted goal in the 40th minute giving UNF a 2-0 advantage. Victor Duncan would tack on the third goal, assisted by Barclay Powers, capping off the 3-0 win.
Brad Jones got his first shutout of the season making four saves. Duncan and Pettersson each managed seven shots as the Ospreys set a season high. North Florida will be without defensemen Danny May and Barclay Powers, as each received red cards in the game.
UNF begins conference play Sept. 25 as they travel to take on USC Aiken at 11:30 a.m.
