Match Summary
Georgia Southern survived a furious North Florida attack games first nine minutes that yielded three shots, two on goal, only to score on their first shot of the game in the 12th minute.  Josh Bronstorph served ball to Nick Wells who took the ball into the box and slipped a shot past Juanes Fajardo.

The offensive momentum swung in favor of the Eagles for the remainder of the half, who fired three of final four shots of the half. Fajardo made two stops and allowed just his third goal of the 2016 season.

The Eagles put the game away late in the second half with a goal from Christian Duncan who gathered a rebound and scored his first goal of the season. Senior Tord Pedersen played the final 45 minutes in net for the Ospreys and also made two stops.

North Florida turned up the offensive pressure in the second half, managing 14 shots, eight of which went on net. Georgia Southern goalkeeper Torgeir, Fjaer made eight saves and his defense in front of him was credited with another two.

Other Game Notes
-This marked the second time in the last four games an opponent has scored on their first shot against the Ospreys.
-Georgia Southern takes a 5-4-1 lead in the all-time series. Coming into the match the Ospreys had won the last two meetings. All but three games in the series, including tonight, have been decided by a goal.
-Aidan D'Mello led the Ospreys with three shots, all of which were on target. Josh Castellanos and Milan Kovacs had three shots apiece.

From Coach Marinatos
On the performance
"We knew coming in that Georgia Southern was a scrappy and hard working team, they proved that tonight by coming away with the result. They caught us napping in the beginning of the game and scored a nice set piece goal. We spent the rest of the half chasing. This is a very disappointing loss for us."
On the second half
"I didn't think we didn't test them enough. We had the ball for the majority of the second half and created 2-3 really good chances but we weren't able to convert. The defended hard you have to give them credit, you can't give a team like that an early lead. I'm disappointed we couldn't get a goal, we need to put this behind us and get ready for conference play."

Up Next: The Ospreys will return home for the first time since Sept. 9 to open up their ASUN Conference schedule. North Florida will host Lipscomb in a rematch of last year's ASUN semfinal match.
