Olmstead Named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – North Florida senior Corbin Olmstead was one of 70 players named to the initial Watch List for the 12th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.
 
In 2015, Olmstead was named a NCBWA Second Team All-American as a two-way player. He is one of two players (Sterling Koerner, FGCU) from the Atlantic Sun on the list. Olmstead tied for the league lead with nine saves in 2015.
 
Last season the right-hander posted a 0.25 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched. He made 23 appearances in relief and struck out a team-best 48 batters.
 
For his career, Olmstead has complied 15 saves, nine shy of tying the program record. This preseason he has already garnered Preseason All-Conference honors to go along with preseason All-America accolades from Perfect Game and Louisville Slugger.

The Ospreys open up their 2016 season on Friday, Feb. 19 when they host George Washington at 6:00 p.m.
