MACON, Ga. - North Florida's Beau Beech set a career-high with 33 points en route to the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Player of the Week announced on Monday by the league office. 

Deadly from long range on the week, UNF's Beech finished the 2-0 stretch for the Ospreys averaging 27.0 PPG as he opened with 21 points against Lipscomb with four triples. He added 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, while adding three assists in the 12-point win. Against Kennesaw State, Beech led the Osprey comeback victory with 33 points on seven three-pointers and pulled down eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. His efforts extended UNF's home win streak to 17 games, which sits as the NCAA's 12th-best.

"When you have so many talented and capable scorers like we do," said UNF head coach Matthew Driscoll. "Sometimes guys don't get a lot accolades. We are excited about this honor because it shows how unselfish and balanced Beau has become. He has raised his scoring and all his shooting percentages this year because of the tireless work he puts in year round. We constantly remind the guys that you reap what you sow."

FGCU's Zach Johnson & Stetson's Derick Newton shared the A-Sun Newcomer of the Week honors.

The Ospreys head out on the road this week to face USC Upstate on Thursday before traveling to A-Sun newcomer NJIT on Saturday.
