MACON, Ga. – Head men's soccer coach Derek Marinatos was named the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference co-Coach of the Year as announced the league office Wednesday. In addition, a school-record, eight players garnered All-Conference honors.

In his fifth season, Marinatos guided the Ospreys to a share of their first ever Atlantic Sun Regular Season Championship after a 4-0-1 record in league play. Under Marinatos the Ospreys will make their third-straight postseason appearance including the last two Atlantic Sun Conference Championship games. North Florida has finished with a .500 or better record in the past three seasons, which previously hadn't been done since 2003.

"I'm extremely thankful to receive the award and see it as an honor for our coaching staff, Josh (Dunn) and Andy (Barth) who work tirelessly day in and day out," said Marinatos. "The program continues to set new standards and its great to see the guys get these type of awards for their work on and off the field."

The Ospreys continue to raise the bar with a program-best, seven all-conference selections. Marinatos' 2014 team previously set the mark with five all-league honorees. Ivan Castro becomes the fifth Osprey to take home All-Freshmen team honors since 2012.

The junior was one of four unanimous selections and his third All-Conference selection in three seasons. He started 11 of the 13 games in which he appeared, recording two assists. He was integral in an Osprey defense that allowed only one goal in five conference games.

M – Alex Morrell – Lakeland, Fla.
The junior is the second of two unanimous selections for the Ospreys after he led the team in points with 10 (2 g, 4a). He netted the game-winner against USC Upstate in the season finale and three of his four assists came against league opponents this season. The All-Conference honor is the third of his career.

F – Helge Pietschmann – Hannover, Germany

The junior played in all but one game for the Ospreys historic regular season. He was named to the UNCW Courtyard by Marriott Wrightsville Beach Classic All-Tournament Team earlier this season. His four assists are tied for the second most in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

M – Joshua Castellanos – Ponte Vedra, Fla.
The sophomore transfer has come in and made an immediate impact on the Ospreys midfield. He has tallied three goals and an assist this season including the game-winner against Lipscomb on Oct. 3.
