MACON, Ga. – Junior women's basketball player Claire Ioannidis was named the Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball co-Player of the Week as well as Newcomer of the Week. The first-year guard had a league-high 29 points in a season-opening win over UMKC on Friday.

In her Osprey debut, Ioannidis set a new program D-1 era single game record for points in a game. She was a perfect, 12-for-12 from the free throw line, the second most free throws made without a miss in school history. She tallied the last eight points for the Ospreys down the stretch to help seal the 62-55 win over UMKC.
Â
She becomes the Ospreys' first Newcomer of the Week since Fabiola Josil in 2011. The Ospreys are 1-0 for the first time since 2005.
