Higginbothem Garners #ASunBSB Player of the Week Award

MACON, Ga. – For the second-straight week, the North Florida baseball team took home a weekly honor from the Atlantic Sun. Third Baseman Trent Higginbothem was named the Atlantic Sun Baseball Player of the Week Award this afternoon by the conference office.
Higginbothem wins the award for the first time in his career and is the third Osprey to capture a weekly award this season. He delivered for the Ospreys this weekend in a series victory over Stetson. Higginbothem batted .571 (8-for-14) with two home runs and 10 RBIs. The junior had at least three RBIs in each game against Stetson this weekend and four extra base hits. He cracked the go-ahead home run against the Hatters on Sunday afternoon en route to a career-high four RBIs.
The junior leads the Ospreys with 44 RBIs this season, ranking him third in the Atlantic Sun. Higginbothem has come up clutch for the Ospreys in Atlantic Sun play, batting .407 with six home runs and 38 RBIs. For the season he boasts a .345 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 10 doubles.
