
UNF Volleyball to Open Spring Practice

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will open spring team practice on Tuesday, March 2. The Ospreys have several spring matches schedule in March and April.
“We are really looking forward to team training this week,” said UNF head coach Kevin Campbell. “We are excited to see all the components of the January and February individual practices come together in the team dynamic. We have a challenging spring competition schedule in place and we are all committed to improving every day as we build a foundation for the fall 2010 season.”
UNF will play the first of its spring matches on Saturday, March 27 when the team travels to College of Charleston for an indoor tournament. In addition to UNF and CofC, the field includes teams from Charleston Southern and the Citadel. Pool play begins at 9 a.m. with playoffs at 3 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 10 the Ospreys will make the short trip to St. Augustine for an indoor/outdoor tournament at Flagler. The indoor portion will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by the outdoor portion beginning at 2 p.m. at the St. Augustine Pier. Teams from every division will be competing in the tournament including Central Florida, Bethune-Cookman, Stetson, Emory, Embry-Riddle, SCAD, Palm Beach and West Florida.
The Ospreys will travel to the Fiesta on Siesta Key Collegiate Beach Championships on Saturday, April 17 in Siesta Key, Fla. In addition to UNF, other teams scheduled to compete in the tournament are USF, Florida, UCF, Stetson, Jacksonville, Notre Dame, Alabama, East Carolina, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State, FAU, FIE, Miami and Florida Gulf Coast.
