
Golfers Sit Tied for 4th Out of 18 Teams After Two Rounds of Rio Pinar Invite

Final 18 holes start at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday
The third and final round begins with shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at the par-72, 7,001-yard course.

“We played very average today,” said UNF head coach Scott Schroeder. “No one had a great day but we had some solid rounds. We need to step up our play tomorrow to make a move.”
Leading the way for North Florida is freshman Kevin Phelan and junior Chris Kennedy, both sitting tied for eighth after shooting a two-round, 2-over, 146. Phelan shot a 72 and 74 and Kennedy a 71 and 75. Kennedy's first round 71 was the only under par round of the day for the Ospreys.
Sophomore Kevin Aylwin is right behind after shooting a +3, 147 (75-72), good for a tie for 16th. Senior J.C. Horne is tied for 40th with a 151 (+7, 75-76) and sophomore Joe Byun is tied for 62nd at plus-10 (75-79=154).
Senior Jordan Gibb is competing as an individual and is tied for 50th at 8-over, 152 (74-78).
In addition to North Florida and the host school UCF, the 18-team field also includes Wichita State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas-Arlington, Akron, USF, North Texas, Liberty, Florida Atlantic, Miami (Ohio), Charlotte, College of Charleston, Middle Tennessee State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Toledo and Marquette. UCF won last year's tournament.
