JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The
UNF was one of 326 women's soccer teams around the nation, all divisions, who posted a grade point average higher than 3.0.
“We need to remember that these girls are not just athletes, but student-athletes. Education must come first,” said head coach Linda Hamilton. “For us having a large roster that consisted of 33 players and for all of them to do what was expected of them to do says a lot about their character and they should all be proud of their accomplishments.”
The women's soccer team through the 2008-09 academic year was able to earn a 3.27 overall GPA. Of the upperclassman the Ospreys had Lauren Maze (4.0 GPA) on top, followed by Kristin Rhodes (3.88 GPA), Rachael Howard (3.87 GPA), Caitlin Kovacs (3.79), Kristin Lazowick (3.78), Ann-Kaye Logan (3.77 GPA) and Katelin Swift (3.72).
