JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced today that University of North Florida sophomore Sean Dale has been named the conference's September Golfer of the Month.

He fired three sub-70 rounds, highlighted by an opening round 66 at the Wolf Run Invitational. Dale out-dueled Illinois' Scott Langley for the tournament title. Dale's 202 bested the previous tournament record by eight strokes.
After the impressive performance Dale debuted as the No. 2 golfer nationally in the initial Golfweek/Sagarin ratings and eventually climbed to the top spot for two weeks.
He finished 24th in his second tournament of the year and is currently ranked 15th in the country.
"It feels good to be recognized for an award like that," said Dale. "I'm glad I have been able to come in and help the team get off to a good start this fall. We are playing good golf right now and we have a lot to build on. We just want to keep improving."
The Ospreys have finished 2nd out of 15 teams and 5th out of 17 teams in its two tournaments played so far. They are back on the course for the third of four fall tournaments on Saturday-Monday, Oct. 10-12, at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship in Macon, Ga.
