
Ospreys Sit Tied For 4th After One Round Of Brickyard

Dale Just Two Strokes Behind Leader
The Ospreys shot a 5-over 293 and trail leader
The tournament, hosted by Atlantic Sun foe Mercer, is played at the Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club. The Brickyard club is playing a traditional par-72 this year, a shift from last year's par-70 format, and features 18 holes played each day. The course has also been extended slightly to a distance of 7,175 yards.
UNF sophomore Sean Dale, the 15th-ranked golfer in the country, leads the way for the Ospreys with a 1-under 71 and sits just two strokes behind six players at 3-under. Senior J.C. Horne is tied for 21st at 1-over and freshman Kevin Phelan is tied for 32nd at 2-over. Junior Chris Kennedy is tied for 44th at 3-over and senior Jordan Gibb is tied for 68th at six-over.
“We played very average today.” said UNF golf coach Scott Schroeder. “So to be in fourth place is pretty good. The field is very bunched so it will be important get focused and play better tomorrow.”
A total of 15 teams are participating in the 54-hole tournament, including 10 of Golfweek's top 54 tams in the nation. The field includes: North Florida, Mercer, No. 29 Augusta State, No. 24 Chattanooga,
