UNF Responsibilities: In his current position, Burnett is responsible for the overall direction, management and supervision of the Athletic Training and Strength & Conditioning units... Serves as head athletic trainer working primarily with the UNF men's basketball and golf teams... Manages allocated budgets and the full and part-time employees, interns, and student assistants on staff... Coordinate the administration of the athletic insurance, drug testing and physical programs... Provide supervision to the training room, which includes the requisitioning and storage of supplies and equipment, keeping adequate records, and maintaining a standing and running inventory.
Experience: Following his first stint at UNF, served as the Director of Sports Medicine, Athletic Development and Wellness at the Center for Health and Sports Medicine... Was Assistant AD and Head Athletic Trainer at North Florida (2009-16)... Spent seven seasons as the athletic trainer for the men's basketball program at The University of Texas … Three years (1999-2002) as an assistant athletic trainer at Auburn University … Managed the Olympic Sports athletic training facility and coordinated the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate student athletic trainers … Served four years as a student athletic trainer at Michigan State, assisting in the medical care of student-athletes for football, men's basketball, baseball and men's and women's golf during his first three years … Directly responsible for the daily medical care for men's track and field and cross country in 1995 and men's soccer in the fall of 1996 … Served a three-month internship with the Philadelphia Eagles in the summer of 1996 … Was the athletic trainer for USA Archery during the Summer 2007 Outdoor Archery World Championships in Leipzig, Germany … Served as the athletic trainer for USA Archery, assisting in the team’s preparation for the 2008 Olympics at World Cup events held in both France and Turkey..Â
Personal: Native of Centreville, Mich... Earned his bachelor's of science degree in physical education and exercise science from Michigan State University in December of 1996 … Completed his master of education degree in administration of higher education from Auburn in June of 1999 … Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC) …Certified PES by the NASM… Married to wife, Courtney, has a son, Liam Henry and daughter, Audrey Michaela.
