Stacey Ungashick Lobdell enters her second season as associate head coach at North Florida in 2026-27, bringing more than three decades of coaching experience to the Ospreys. Lobdell coaches the team defense and post players while handling opponent scouting. She also oversees scheduling, alumni relations, community outreach and academics while implementing culture and leadership training as part of the program’s player development.
The Delaware, Ohio, native joined UNF after a successful 14-year tenure as head coach at Ohio Wesleyan University from 2011-25. Lobdell compiled a 189-175 (.519) overall record, including a 95-31 (.754) mark over her final five seasons.
In 2024-25, Lobdell guided the Bishops to a 25-4 overall record, a perfect 14-0 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference play and an NCAC championship before advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament Sweet 16. Ohio Wesleyan also won the NCAC regular-season title and reached the NCAA Tournament second round in 2023-24. From 2021-23, the Bishops went 39-18 with two NCAC Tournament championship game appearances, including a victory that secured the program’s first automatic NCAA Tournament bid since 2008-09.
Lobdell’s 2015-16 squad led NCAA Division III with a .383 mark from 3-point range, while her 2013-14 team ended DePauw’s 58-game winning streak and handed the Tigers their first NCAC loss.
Before becoming Ohio Wesleyan’s head coach, Lobdell spent four seasons as an assistant with the Bishops from 2007-11, helping OWU compile a 46-16 conference record. She previously spent more than a decade coaching at the high school level, leading her teams to five conference titles, three district championships and one regional crown. Lobdell earned six conference coach of the year awards and was a three-time district coach of the year selection.
A graduate of Florida Southern College, Lobdell was a four-time First Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection and led the Moccasins in scoring all four seasons. She finished her career with 1,786 points and ranked among the program’s top six in scoring, assists (441), steals (269), scoring average (16.2), field goals made (688) and 3-point field goal percentage (.352). Lobdell was inducted into the Florida Southern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.
Lobdell and her husband, Dan, a volunteer assistant coach on the Osprey staff, have three children, Bryce, Ryan and Breann, and three grandchildren.
