Parker Bangs enters his first season as an assistant coach for North Florida after joining the staff in July of 2025.
Bangs most recently served as the pitching coach at Rice from 2023-25. In his first season with the Owls, he guided three pitchers to MLB Draft selections — the program’s most in a single year since 2019.
In his second season at Rice, Bangs elevated the pitching staff to rank second in the American Athletic Conference and 33rd nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (8.53), a leap of 77 spots from the previous year.
Prior to Rice, Bangs spent four seasons as the pitching coach at Davidson from 2019-2022, where his staff led the Atlantic 10 Conference and finished eighth nationally with a 3.86 ERA in 2022.
Bangs started his collegiate coaching career as the pitching coach at Presbyterian from 2016-2018.
Bangs played at South Carolina from 2008-10 and was a member of the USC's 2010 College World Series championship team. Bangs was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 31st round of the 2010 MLB Draft, making 17 appearances over three minor league seasons.
