Erika Lambert enters her fourth season as North Florida’s head women’s basketball coach in 2026-27 after being hired in April 2023. The Mannsville, N.Y., native has coached at the collegiate level for almost two decades.
Lambert’s UNF program has produced an ASUN All-Freshman Team selection in each of her first three seasons. Alexa Washington earned the honor in 2023-24 while also receiving three ASUN Freshman of the Week awards and setting the program’s single-game Division I record with nine 3-pointers against Piedmont. Jasmynne Gibson earned ASUN All-Freshman Team honors in 2024-25, followed by Dezuray McGill in 2025-26.
The Ospreys set program records with 146 points and 19 3-pointers against Trinity Baptist in 2024-25, while Jamisyn Stinson set the UNF freshman record with 62 3-pointers that season.
Since Lambert’s arrival, UNF has earned eight CSC Academic All-District honors, including a program-high four in 2023-24. The 2023-24 squad ranked No. 15 nationally on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll with a 3.67 GPA. Alonya Waldon and Alexa Washington were also named to the 2025-26 ASUN All-Academic Team.
Before UNF, Lambert spent eight seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Abilene Christian. The Wildcats posted a 184-83 overall record and 122-46 conference mark during her tenure, recording four 23-plus-win seasons with one NCAA Tournament and three WNIT appearances. Lambert also helped ACU capture Southland Conference regular-season and tournament championships.
Lambert helped recruit and coach 16 all-conference selections, two league Players of the Year, one Newcomer of the Year and two All-Newcomer Team honorees at ACU. She was recognized by The Athletic as one of 22 assistants ready to lead their own program and was selected for the Women Coaches NEXT UP program in 2020.
Before ACU, Lambert spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Charleston Southern from 2011-13. The Buccaneers recorded their most wins in a 13-year span and earned a berth in the Women’s Basketball Invitational during her tenure. She began her coaching career as director of basketball operations at her alma mater, the College of Charleston, from 2008-11.
A four-year letterwinner and two-year captain at Charleston, Lambert led the Cougars in field goal percentage twice and blocks in all four seasons. She finished her career with the school record for field goals made in a game (13) and ranked first in Charleston’s Division I era and second all-time with 164 blocked shots. Lambert was also a three-year Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and was named Charleston’s ExCel Minority Female Student-Athlete of the Year as a senior.
Lambert is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and Women Leaders in Sports and facilitates Moms in Coaching, an organization connecting coaching mothers across college basketball.
Lambert earned two bachelor’s degrees and a Master of Public Administration from the College of Charleston, along with a certificate in urban planning. Lambert and her husband, Paul, have two daughters, Ava and Mya.
