University of North Florida Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Nick Morrow named Delaney Rose the fourth Head Coach of North Florida Beach Volleyball program history on Tuesday, May 5.
The winningest Head Coach in program history, Rose compiled a 66-39 (.629) record at the helm of the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2024-26. She coached UAB to a program-record win total each season on staff and developed seven Conference USA All-Conference selections.
Nine of the top-10 single-season individual win totals and four of the top-five single-season pair win totals in program history were achieved under Rose.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Head Beach Volleyball Coach at North Florida," Rose said. "I want to thank Nick Morrow and the administration for their trust in me to lead this program. North Florida has built a strong tradition of success, and I have great respect for the foundation that's been established here. I'm excited to get to work with our student-athletes and staff to build on that momentum and elevate the program to new heights."

Under Rose's direction, UAB posted a 26-11 overall and 5-0 CUSA record in 2026. The 26 wins were the latest program record total, and the CUSA record marked the first undefeated conference season in program history.
UAB earned its first AVCA All-Americans in program history this season when Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant secured 2026 AVCA Second Team All-America honors. The 2026 CUSA Pair of the Year, Haas and Stant set the program record in single-season wins, pair wins and Court 1 wins with 29. Rose helped Haas conclude her career as the program's all-time wins leader with 96 and Stant finished second in the all-time ranks with 83.
Rose coached Haas and Stant to AVCA Top Flight – Flight 1 honors for the second-straight season and Claudia Stockard and Isabel day to AVCA Top Flight – Flight 4 honors in 2026.
In 2025, Rose led UAB to 21 wins, its first season with 20 or more wins in program history, and Haas and Stant to AVCA Top Flight – Flight 1 honors.
Off the sand, Rose guided the program to the 2024-25 Conference USA Beach Volleyball Academic Excellence Award, awarded to the highest team grade-point average, and 2024 and 2025 UAB Highest Team GPA and Team of the Year honors. Rose also mentored seven CUSA All-Academic selections while at UAB.
Rose, a 2024 AVCA Thirty Under 30 recipient, guided the program to 19 wins in her first season at the helm in 2024. Rose helped Arden Copping become the winningest player in program history at the time with 70 career wins, which has since been surpassed three different times under her direction.
Rose was elevated to Head Coach on Aug. 17, 2023. Rose joined the staff at UAB in an Assistant Coach role in 2023. In her first season at UAB, she helped propel the Blazers to 18 wins. Rose coached 2023 Conference USA Freshman of the Year Haas and Copping to CUSA First Team All-Conference honors.
Prior to UAB, Rose was an Indoor and Beach Volleyball Assistant Coach at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. from 2021-22.
A 2014 All-ACC Second Team selection, Rose was a four-year libero at Pittsburgh from 2011-14. Her 1,602 digs remain third all-time in program history. She competed for the USA Collegiate National Team in 2014. After Pittsburgh, Rose was a graduate transfer at Florida Atlantic, where she transitioned to beach and competed for two years from 2015-16. She earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2016.
After her collegiate career, Rose played indoor professionally for VBC Kerzers in Switzerland from 2017-18. She then played beach professionally on the AVP circuit from 2019-22.
In addition to her professional career, Rose started her coaching career in 2017 and spent time as the Program Director for Chicago Sand Volleyball, Montini Catholic Freshman Coach and New Wave Club Coach from 2018-19, Gold Medal Squared Independent Coach from 2017-20, Legacy Volleyball Club Indoor Coach and Calvary Christian Indoor and Beach Assistant Coach from 2020-21. She was also an Elementary School Counselor at Sexton Elementary in St. Petersburg, Fla. from 2020-22.
An Evanston, Illinois native, Rose graduated from Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in Media and Professional Communication in 2014 and earned a Master's degree in Counseling from Florida Atlantic in 2019.
Rose, formerly Delaney Clesen, married her husband Josh in November 2024.
